Ch. 6 – Manual Handling
Chapter 6
Manual handling and manoeuvring at slow speeds
The learning in this chapter, along with rider training, should enable to:
- explain and practice the competences needed to manually handle your machine safely
- explain the competences for slow-speed riding
- begin to practice slow-speed riding in a safe controlled environment.
As the majority of this section requires manually practising with your own bike and each user is different therefor THIS SECTION HAS NOT BEEN INCLUDED, though help and guidance is in a .PDF file below by Alec Gore.
The local IAM Roadsmart Solent group hold four sessions of slow riding per year and I would suggest you contact them to find out how you could be included. They also hold club sessions so as a motorcycle club you can arrange for you’re members to have a controlled environment and trained observers to advise individuals.
